As a counselor, I have a heart for those seeking to make healthy changes, with a painful past. I see you, I hear you, and I care! I want to help you in our therapeutic journey to further understand your genuine self. We can work together to identify tools that will help you cope in stressful moments as well as everyday coping skills to grow into your best self.

I integrate various therapeutic approaches and techniques, depending on what is best fit. Every individual is unique in their own beautiful way and I strive to meet my clients where they are at! I often come from a client-centered approach with the use of mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy. I also welcome inviting faith and Biblical principles into the therapeutic discussion, if desired by the client.

 

She has experience working in both residential and outpatient settings, treating adult women and men who were in recovery from alcohol and drug addictions with a history of incarceration, traumas, and mental health disorders. Julia is passionate about the work she does with individuals in recovery and has hope in the powerful changes that can occur in therapy!

• Master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida

• Graduate certificate in Addictions and Substance Abuse Counseling

• Certified Rehabilitation Counselor

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Florida Gulf Coast University
